What are some of the symptoms of a sick Boynton Beach opossum?
Like all another animal, the Boynton Beach opossum will not often show visible signs of sickness like cat or dog so you must have little knowledge about the symptoms. Following are the signs to look out for:
Rabies:
Rabies is highly infectious and contagious, also it is a very common disease among Florida mammals. It can be easily transferred from one mammal to another pet like cat or dog. It may sometimes transfer to yourself through following two ways:
• Directly contact with fluids
• Flea bits
Following are the symptoms of rabies which you may notice in Boynton Beach opossums:
- Anxiety
- Aquaphobia (Fear of water)
-Excessive salivation amounts
- Hallucination
- Inflammation of the biting area
- Tingling sensation
- Aggression
- Confusion
- Fever
- Insomnia
- Muscle atrophy

- Headaches
- Fever
- Lethargy or Exhaustion
- Chills
Same as with Florida animals which are infected with rabies, you should not approach to those animals which are infected with these symptoms. You may get that disease as well and in some extreme cases, you have to take this situation with extreme caution.

- Ensure to wear footwear and protective gloves. That will help to minimize your direct contact with opossum
